Welcome to ISPS 2008 Paper Submission System!
Technical papers are solicited to submit through this system to the upcoming ASME ISPS division’s annual conference to be held at
Santa Clara University, CA, USA for June 16 and 17, 2008. The ISPS
is the division of American Society of Mechanical Engineers focuses primary on Information
Storage and Processing Systems. Relevant technologies in the annual ISPS conference include (a) magnetic and optical storage
systems such as rigid disk, flexible disk, tape media, and optical storage systems,
(b) information processing systems such as copiers, printers, digital cameras, scanners,
and data servers, and (c) intelligent machines, biomedical equipment, nano/micro-electrical-mechanical
systems, and wearable systems.
The scope of the conference is comprised
of the following interdisciplinary research and application topics involved in the
data storage and processing systems:
-
Tribology and Head/Media Interface:
Contact mechanics, lubrication,
friction, wear, contamination, corrosion, thin films, heat-assisted recording, perpendicular
magnetic recording
-
Actuator & Suspensions: Designs and analysis of actuators,
dual-stage actuators, and suspensions
-
Servo Control Technology:
System dynamics and designs of modern, high precision servo systems
-
Shock & Flow Induced Vibrations:
Design and analysis of air-flow system, and non- and operational shock and vibrations
-
Spindle Motor & Acoustics:
Dynamics, vibrations, acoustics, and Tribology of disk/spindle systems
-
Micro/Nano Technology: Design, analysis, and application using MEMS and
NAMS
technology
-
Biomedical & Intelligent Machines:
Mechatronic system designs for biomedical devices and robotic-intelligent machines involving data storage and processing
-
Image Processing & Consumer Electronics:
Digital camera, camcorder, ink jet, thermal/laser printing, and applications using vision systems in engineering applications
-
Optical Storage & Technology:
Design and analysis of integrated optical storage systems including high recording density media
-
Flexible Media Mechanics & Tape Storage:
Design, analysis of lateral motion, tension, wear, and dynamics of high speed flexible tape/web systems
Potential presenters should first
submit a one-page abstract for review using this paper submission system.
Once the paper is accepted for presentation, the authors shall prepare a three-page
extended abstract to be included in a conference abstract booklet.
Final extended abstracts shall be submitted through the on-line system by
April 20, 2008 to allow sufficient time in processing the conference proceeding.
Here is the conference important deadlines.
